What Is Dry Lining?
Dry Lining is the internal plasterboard lining of buildings including ceilings, walls, and partitions. Once installed the plasterboard joints and angles are taped and coated before being sanded leaving a surface ready for painting.
Dry Lining has become the favoured construction method for new commercial builds, as it is flexible and cost effective compared with other methods, with the added advantage of offering a high level of fire proofing.
The "Dot & Dab" method of Dry Lining means plasterboard can also be fixed directly to existing concrete/block walls, keeping the majority of the plasterboard free from possible holes that would allow any break in the fire resistance.
Benefits of plasterboard dry lining
Modern plasterboard can now fulfil a number of purposes. As well as fire proofing it also resists moisture, offers a level of soundproofing and helps increase the thermal insulation of a commercial location.
At CSB Fire Protection, we offer dry lining packages that are tailored to our client’s needs. Regardless of your building type, we can supply and install a dry lining system to suit your needs.
